PROJECTThe Making of Tequila (2023)
DISCIPLINEData Visualization, Systems Design
SOFTWAREIllustratorThis is a data visualization system of the age-old process of tequila, spanning from the cultivation of agave plants to the meticulous oak-barrel aging process, which emphasizes the tequila-making process as a profound testament to tradition.
THE PREMISETo design a step-by-step visual infographic that delves into the intricacies of the tequila-making process, employing a series of detailed imagery and label indicators.
THE PROCESSMotivated by personal interest, I delved into researching the multi-layered process of tequila production, because it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?
This exploration identified eight essential steps, represented through prominent circles, while smaller labels provide supplemental information, including brief descriptions and Spanish translations.
THE OUTCOMEEmploying cut-out black-and-white imagery, I've successfully developed a data visualization system that highlights the intricate tequila-making process, aimed to educate viewers about Mexico's rich culture. The chosen typefaces convey a scientific and informative tone, while the shapes and graphics introduce an element of playfulness to the narrative.
